ME EN 4000/4010 - Senior Design
Spanning two semesters, every senior for a BS in mechanical engineering must complete a senior capstone project to demonstrate that they can apply design methodology to define, design, analyze, manufacture, evaluate, and document an engineered project. They are placed in a group to complete the project with and guided by one of the University of Utah's Department of Engineering faculty to complete this project. At the end of the second semester, the project is presented during the Department of Engineering's Design Day. Ours was presented on Apr 20th, 2017.
My capstone project is to make an Affordable Insulin Pump. The majority of insulin pumps on the market cost nearly a thousand dollars, with health insurance. It can be nearly triple that without health insurance to help. Our team has been working to create an Affordable Insulin pump that can be assembled by the user to reduce the cost of manufacturing. Below are some of the work that has been completed thus far on our project.
