Welcome!
Welcome to my e-portfolio. This is my site is currently describing my work at the University of Utah, as well as my past work at Salt Lake Community College. It describes both my General Education and Mechanical Engineering Classes.
I graduated from Salt Lake Community College in December 2013 with a Pre-Engineering in Mechanical Engineering Associates Degree and a General Associates Degree. I have transferred to the University of Utah where I will receive my Bachelor's Degree in May 2017.
I am currently working as a REU (Research Experience as Undergraduate) at the University of Utah under Dr. Mark Minor in a NSF grant. I am working on collecting research and information needed to submit to the Internal Review Board to be able to do human studies in a Total Immersion Virtual Reality experience. I have also gotten experience working with Room Temperature Vulcanizing Silicone for making molds, as well as testing fabric/silicone composites on an Instron machine to improve the strength and stiffness of pneumatic silicone air bladders. I am working with Dr. Minor and one of his PhD students on a journal article about fabric/silicone composites, which has been submitted for review in the Soft Robotic Journal. I am waiting for approval before I publish the webpage going into detail about the work I have done for Dr. Minor.
My Senior Capstone Project is an Affordable Insulin Pump kit that can be assembled by the user but still be able to deliver a safe and accurate dose of insulin to the user. More information for my senior capstone project can be found under the ME EN 4000/4010 - Senior Design page linked here or under the Projects page.
I am currently taking ME EN 5520 - Composites, ME EN 5830 - Aero Propulsion, and ME EN 4010 - Senior Design. I will be updating these courses throughout the semester. Last semester, I was in ME EN 4000 - Senior Design, ME EN 5300 - Advanced Strength of Materials, and ME EN 5630 - Energy Harvesting for Micro Systems.
Last year, I took ME EN 3000 - Design Elements and ME EN 3210 - Mechatronics II. In Mechatronics II, we had to build a robot for the 2016 Return to Mars Design Day competition. Please check out the link above to see the robot that my team build along with several videos.
